When it comes to videos, the Downsound name is fast gaining recognition in the world of reggae dancehall. Nanko’s liquid groove and broken heart shine through on the self-referential hit ‘Lucky You’ with artful direction and camera work on this video. The video depicts an emotionally ravaged man torturing himself at the images of his former girlfriend moving on with another man.

Nanko’s second huge hit ‘Loco Amore’ is perhaps one of the best videos ever produced by DSR with its beautiful scenes shot in various locales in the parish of St. Thomas . Former DSR recording artiste Fantan Mojah shows his early promise on videos such as ‘Hungry’, ‘Corruption’, ‘Hail the King’ and then combines well with Jah Cure on ‘Nah Build Great Man’ which has rustic shots, scenes with murals and shots of a bustling HWT.

‘True Reflection’, the accompanying video for the Jah Cure smash hit, is one of the most watched videos in the history of Jamaican television, and has rare footage of Jah Cure ‘behind prison walls doing my time…”. Other standout videos include ‘Receive’ by Junior Kelly, ‘Internet’ by Harry Toddler, and the humourously delivered ‘Barber Chair’ by social commentator of our times, DYCR. DSR also shows that it has an understanding of the vibrancy and immediacy of dancehall with the ‘Sika Sitten’ medley video featuring various artistes.
